setlist courtesy & review by: ljmc

I went to this show by complete fluke accident. I was going up to Kansas City on Friday to go to some friends' CD release gig, and remembered that my best friends were going to the Ratt/Dokken/Great White in SD the next day. I figured I'd go ahead and ride along with, since they'd be able to get back into KC in time for me to leave to get back to Texas by Friday night.
Below is an excerpt from my MySpace blog about the show...

I should point out here that I've gotten a little too used to Texas... particularly the weather. My original intended outfit consisted of a skirt, tank top, and flip flops. Thank goodness I changed my mind, or else I probably would have gotten hypothermia. In fact, I had to end up buying a long sleeved thermal shirt and a hoodie on the way there. I would like to know who had the bright idea it was to have an evening outdoor concert in South Dakota in the middle of September. It was chilly as shit.

So we got to Frigidsville, I mean Sioux Falls, at about 4:30, and we went and found some friends and picked up our tickets and just hung around for a bit. We then went over to the hotel to meet up with some folks, and we saw Robbie head to the bar, so we went over to catch up with him for a bit. He then had to get ready for the show, so we went over to the field to go watch Dokken (yeah, we missed Great Whitecsorry Ann!!!!!!).

We braved the crowd and the cold for Dokken, and I had a good time. I FINALLY got to hear them play "Dream Warriors" live. That was fun. :)

Then, it was Ratt & Roll time. No matter how many times I see RATT, I always am stoked to see them. I have the greatest time at their shows. I do, however, realize that I had seen them far too many times with Jizzy singing, as I was waiting for Jizz's usual vocal ad-libs, and I threw myself off trying to sing along, as Stephen of course, has completely different vocal ad-libs.

They played a great setclots of old stuff. The set was:

  1. Sweet Cheater
  2. Walkin' The Dog
  3. Dangerous But Worth the Risk
  4. I'm Insane
  5. You Think You're Tough
  6. City To City
  7. Wanted Man
  8. Slip of the Lip
  9. Way Cool Junior
  10. Nobody Rides for Free
  11. Back For More
  12. Lovin' You's A Dirty Job
  13. Lack of Communication
  14. Lay It Down
  15. You're In Love
  16. Round and Round

Great set, but they didn't get to do Body Talk, and my favorite, Over The Edge. But it was a great set nonetheless.

After RATT got done, we headed back to the hotel bar to mingle and drink. And drink. And drink. I have decided I REALLY like blueberry vodka. A lot. A lot lot lot. I had a really good time, just chatting and socializing. A few of the guys from each of the bands were hanging out and it was a good time. I met some new folks (like Corabi's son Ian... sweet guy, just like his dad) and got to hang out with some folks I hadn't seen in a long time...

As RATT rolled back thru North Carolina, I had one more chance to catch them on tour with Poison before solo touring begins next week. Previous stops in this area have been to either sold out show (HOB Myrtle Beach) or well-packed amphitheaters. Tonight's tour was neither. Crown Colisseum in Fayetteville, NC seats 10000. Only 1700 presale tickets for the show. Looking around, I think half of the 1700 didn't show up. Very disappointing crowd in numbers, but not in enthusiasm. VOJ did their set at 7PM as usual. RATT hit the stage at 8PM to We Will Rock You. SEP made several references to this tour winding down (said 50+ dates several times) and that it was a success because they had survived! Early tour dates had the band members pretty much nailed to a spot on the stage. Tonight, all the guys were full of energy and bounding all over the stage. Much better stage show with lots of smiles and crowd appreciation. I had wondered if they would be dragging as the tour ends, but they look as strong as they did when the tour started.

 Setlist was:

  1. Dangerous but Worth the Risk
  2. I'm Insane
  3. You Think You're Tough
  4. Wanted Man
  5. Slip of the Lip
  6. Way Cool Jr
  7. Nobody Rides for Free
  8. Back 4 More
  9. Lovin You's a Dirty Job
  10. Lack of Communication
  11. Lay It Down
  12. Your In Love
  13. Round and Round

Body Talk was scratched from tonight's setlist.

Wife and I stuck around for part of Poison, long enough for tongue-twisted Bret to thank Janes of Venna!!!!

Crowd was very much into RATT and we actually met several RATT fans that were there JUST FOR RATT. Should bode well for their solo/headlining tour. This show had little advertising with only 1 radio station (an hour and a half from Fayetteville) pimping the show. It was also a late date addition to the tour. Never been to an "arena" where parking was free.

Bret is sporting a cast on his right wrist. Sound was not the best....had trouble hearing/understanding Bret and SEP when they spoke. Think Bret said he broke wrist on bike....No marks on Bobby's face, so must be true.

I was front row directly in front of Robbie and Crabby. Funniest RATT moment of the night was while SEP was talking, Blotz and Robbie were goofing off and Bobby started a "F U Robbie" on the edge of a drum. Crabby, Robbie, and Blotz were all laughing their asses off.

I picked up Chiaki from her hotel in Hollywood and we went to the venue to meet up with Upscope since he had our tickets. We also met up with Curt from RC.net and his son. It was Curt's son's first concert and he was wearing one of his dad's old RATT t-shirts from the "Reach" tour. I can't think of a better band to see for your first concert!

VOJ went on around 8pm and I thought they were really good. Kind of a GNR meets Faster Pussycat or Bang Tango. They had catchy songs, and they really reminded me of a lot of the bands I used to see BITD. I'd go see them again.

RATT went on around 9pm with the same set list as Friday night's. There was not an empty seat in the house by the time Ratt took the stage. "We Will Rock You" played as their intro and everyone was on their feet cheering on the band. I had hoped that they would change up their set list a bit since they were back on their home turf, but they didn't and that's okay.

RATT had 10x's the energy and intensity than the night before and the audience ate it up! Pearcy's vocals sounded even better! I was really impressed by how they played and sounded. This time, they were flawless. I was so thrilled to get to see them back in L.A. where it all started for them!

Then there was a little mishap about 2/3's of the way thru the show...

Warren fell off the stage during, I believe, Lack Of Communication. I didn't see it happen. All I do remember is that I heard a really loud noise, that sounded like feedback. It went on for several seconds when I realized it was a guitar making the noise. Crabby was on stage playing, so it wasn't him. Then, I see Warren getting back up on the stage. I don't think he was hurt as the drop from the stage looked to be about 4 feet, but still....kinda scary. From what I could see, it seemed to have made him angry more than anything cuz suddenly you saw this intensity in his face and in his playing that I've never seen come from anybody. If anything, Warren shined even brighter after that fall. He was able to poke a little fun at himself during the band introductions, so I think it's safe to say that he was okay.

I did not want to see their set end! I was sad to see them leave the stage knowing it was the last show I'd be seeing for quite a while.

Poison went on about 10:30 and, as always, were very entertaining. They did add a couple staples back into their set, "I Won't Forget You" and "Ride The Wind", so it was really great to hear those songs. Some fan footage was shot and will supposedly air on "Rock of Love" either tonight or next weekend. Also, since the Irvine show tonight wasn't sold out, Bret told the audience as he was leaving the stage that if anyone from the Gibson Amp., show went to Irvine, they'd get a free ticket in the door as long as they had their ticket stub from Saturday. Pretty fukkin' cool if you ask me! I hope tonight's show is packed for both bands. I'm kicking myself in the ass for not going, but my poor car cannot take another road trip right now. Between Friday and Saturday I drove 600 miles, so to add another 500?? Nope, she and I both need a rest!

- Shelby (uthnkurtuf)

I thought somebody in the audience pulled WD into the crowd at first. Then he seemed to be smiling so I figured he was doing an Angus Young crowd tour. Still he didn't miss a beat (pun intended).

On the topic of playing. I forgot that guy was an fucking virtuoso. He's amazing!

--------------------

I second the notion of uthnkurtuf. The rest of the band sounded great, too. I also think SEP was right on. He sounded awesome. Him and the band all seemed to be totally loving it and showed.

What I wasn't expecting was that backup singing was going to be so good too, which made the whole show sound even better. That took the show to a whole new level.

I think I have seen like 5 shows and this one was the best from a performance perspective. If they keep pumping this level of performance, they can't help but even more fans.

- CC

Let me start by saying that I can sum up RATT's performances the last two nights with one word: WOW!!! rockrockrock

I never had the chance to see RATT w/ Pearcy in the 80's and had only seen him solo. I've heard so many mixed opinions on the band's performances both past and present, it made me really curious to see how they would be this time around.

I met up with Chiaki, who flew in the day before from Japan, at her hotel. She stayed a short distance from the venue, so it was easy for me to find her and it also gave us the chance to visit before the show. We left for the venue about 6:30pm and were to meet up with my friends from the East Bay who drove down for the show.

We get there and Chiaki picks up her tix from will call and we hear Vains of Jenna start right at 7pm. We didn't watch them play because we were waiting outside for my friends. Well, 30 minutes later VOJ is finished and my friends have yet to show even though they were "Just a few blocks away"! Grrrrr! We waited until 7:40pm and finally got anxious enough to where I decided that we should go inside. I knew my friends would find us and they did. They finally got inside moments before RATT went on!

RATTgoes on at 8pm sharp and played for an hour, which IMO, wasn't long enough! Set list was:

  1. Dangerous But Worth The Risk
  2. I'm Insane
  3. You Think You're Tough
  4. Wanted Man
  5. Slip of the Lip
  6. Way Cool Jr.
  7. Nobody Rides For Free
  8. Back For More (EP version)
  9. Lack of Communication
  10. Lay It Down
  11. You're In Love
  12. Body Talk
  13. Round and Round

The crowd was small, but very rough. Chiaki and I got knocked around pretty good and my foot is still sore, no thanks to the asshole that stepped on it! I ended up giving some idiot an elbow to the head because he and his friend were bouncing around practically body slamming people. Later during the show, a girl who was standing in front of me ended up shoving the same guy to the ground! After the show I told her she was my hero!

Anyway, the band totally fed off the energy the crowd put out, and vice versa. Everyone went nuts during Back For More. The band's sound was tight and Pearcy's vocals sounded really good. It's no secret that live singing isn't a strength for him, but it was obvious he was making the effort. He worked the crowd real well and was constantly walking back and forth across the stage, kneeling down and pointing out fans. You could tell they were having a great time and the fans responded! Overall, the band's performance was almost flawless.

Chiaki ended up with an extra after-show pass, so she was kind enough to give it to me, and we got to go on the bus so she could see Warren. We ended up staying on the bus until Midnight, when the band had to leave for L.A.!! Needless to say, we missed Poison's set! There were quite a few other guests on the bus at first, but Warren let us stay and hang out long after the other guests left. He showed us his new laptop and the program he's using to write stuff and briefly went over how it works. It's pretty cool! We also got a chance to hold the Crossed Swords guitar, which was pretty much the highlight of my evening! Chiaki, if you read this, I thank you again for letting me hang out with you! It was an honor to be your guest!

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was the best show I've seen them play (I don't care if it's only 4 live shows in total - I'm gonna count bootleg dvds too)! Don't remember the setlist, just enjoyed the show.

Definitely the best performance I've ever seen out of Pearcy. Warren is so good it only amplifies how sloppy CC Deville is. Blotz and the boys held the rythym pretty damn tight. Had to giggle a bit when Warren introduced SEP as "My best friend, Stephen Pearcy." Thought that was funny. Show was awesome! If you have the chance, go!

I was also there and they were really on fire.... probably the best I've seen so far this tour.

Although the video screens were on, I was told that Nissan didn't record the feed. Too bad because it would make a great dvd.

On the bright side, I have heard that this particular venue will sometimes secretly record without the artists knowledge/permission, so maybe it will turn up somewhere!

WOW, what a show. Even better than the show I saw in Boston. Pearcy's vocals were ON tonight. He sounded great. I think the small 5 day break did them some good.

A Spinal Tap moment happened when during Way Cool Jr. Warren went into an "extended" solo. and Pearcy had no idea where he should come back in, so he went about 5 times to start going back in, but Warren was still soloing so he would just stop. LOL

As a RATT fan, it was great to see a totally different setlist as well. Out are City to City, Sweet Cheater. They now opened with "Dangerous But Worth the Risk".

Also added to the set were "Walkin the Dog", "You Think You're Tough" and "Lovin' You's A Dirty Job".

The hits were also placed throughout the set not like in Boston, where it was first half the obscurities, and then the hits.

Jul. 12, 2007 at: Hard Rock Biloxi Hotel and Casino (Biloxi, MS)

setlist courtesy and review by: Rhastus

Went and saw RATT at the hard Rock Hotel and casino in Biloxi Mississippi on July 12, 2007. This was my 3rd show this year and my 4th overall.

My typical partners in crime Jason and Ashley showed up that Thursday afternoon and we got on the road. We had some of the typical rain that seems to happen at some point on all road trips. We made decent time and only stopped once to air up a tire and get that Macdonald's food that I only seem to eat when we are going to a show. This was our first time at this venue (Hurricane Katrina knocked it out on its opening day in 05). We almost had to park on the roof. The place is nice. Got in this huge line and got in the show room about 5 minutes before the show started.

  Well on to the show...

  Here is the line up:

  • Stephen Pearcy - Vocals
  • Warren DeMartini - Lead Guitar
  • Bobby "The Blotz" Blotzer - Drums
  • Robbie Crane - Bass
  • John Corabi - Guitar

Here is the set list with my ever insightful comments to follow.

  1. Sweet Cheater
  2. Dangerous but worth the Risk
  3. I'm Insane
  4. You think you're tiugh
  5. Slip of the Lip
  6. Wanted man- Extended version
  7. Way Cool Jr-Extended version
  8. Nobody rides for free
  9. Back for more-Extended version
  10. Lovin' you's a Dirty Job
  11. Lack of Communication
  12. Over the Edge
  13. Lay it Down
  14. You're in Love- extended
  15. Round and Round

The show started right at 7 p.m. and ended at 8:05 p.m. A 65 minute show, only about 10 minutes and a couple songs shorter that their headlining show in New Orleans the week before. Same basic setlist with a couple changes in the order and song selection. Very Cool to see You Think You're Tough added to the set. I missed Walking the Dog and Body Talk though. The band sounded great, alot better than New Orleans. I don't know if it was better equipment or what. Warren was on fire and Stephen's vocals were much better. All in all a great show.

setlist courtesy and review by: ljmc

So plain and simple, Ratt kicked some ASS in Tyler. From my understanding, there was only 6 days worth of promotion for this show (maybe even less than that), and it was sold out to capacity. The band was on fire from the start, despite being on such a small stage, and it was a great show.

I was very disappointed in having to miss Victoria and Dallas, but this show really made up for it.

The place was sold out and I heard someone say that capacity was 800 or 900, and from what I saw, that number is pretty accurate.

Everybody came off the bus and signed stuff in the extreme humidity. Stephen was first out and everyone else was not far behind him. Typical to nature, Robbie was the last one back in (yap yap yap yap yap... ). I'd say they were out meeting and mingling with fans for at least an hour and a half.

One thing I'll say is that you can tell that Tyler is not used to rock crowds of an "older age", shall we say. There was an OVERABUNDANCE of unnecessary security. There were about 5 security guards and 4 uniformed police officers in the show and they were actually causing more of a problem by trying to push the packed crowd back too much. Most of the guards and cops were even out by the busses, and the band members even agreed that that was unnecessary. There were maybe 30 people or so out by the bus, nobody was being a problem. They were just standing there making everybody feel uncomfortable. They were even kind of hard-asses too. One cop was holding up his flashlight every time somebody was signing something, to help them see what they were signing. I joked with him, "wow. That's helpful! They need to take you out on the road with them!" Just being cheerful like I am. He gave me the dirtiest look.

Anyway, it was a good time.

.:. s e t l i s t .:.

Sweet Cheater / Dangerous But Worth the Risk / I'm Insane / You Think You're Tough / Back for More / Wanted Man / Lack of Communication / Way Cool Jr. / Lovin' You's A Dirty Job / Nobody Rides for Free / You're in Love / Over The Edge (YAY!!!! My favorite!!!!) / Body Talk / Round & Round

(The setlist was something like this... only the first three songs and last two songs are in order... everything else is a big jumble in my brain. And I'm racking my brain because I think they did Slip of the Lip too, but I can't remember for sure. - LJMC)

I didn't write down the set list but it sounded the same as has been posted. There's just something right about Pearcy being out front with RATT again. There was a synergy that just hasn't been there.

I was a bit disappointed with the movement on stage. With the exception of SEP, everyone pretty much kept their part of the world nailed down. With the exception of the Round and Round solo, Warren and John never crossed paths. A sin for a 2 guitar band if you ask me. CC and Bobby were great at working both sides of the stage. I also wished (but didn't get) they would have had some more of the coordinated band moves during a couple of songs. This may be one of those things where the headliner limits what you can do like they do with lighting and sound. Maybe Mike can lend some knowledge there...

They were tight. They sounded great. Can't wait for new music.

In a side note, Poison put on a pretty good show. A little loud for the venue but you can't beat the energy they put into the show. Great finale with confetti... Bet the cleanup crew loved it.

Got back from the Victoria, TX show last night about 2:30a.m. (it's about a 2+hr drive from Houston).

The show was awesome. Took my 15 year old and it was his first concert. Show was at a large night club type facility with general admission only. We were standing about 3 people back on Warren's side so I've got some REALLY close up pictures and shhh... even short bits of video for all the rest of the fans on here. No full songs but Warren jamming the riff on Lay It Down and a few more of his solos that came out really good. (Hope everyone enjoys these photos... can't tell Warren is one of my all time favorite guitaists can you by the number of photos, LOL)

Setlist was about the same as some of the last shows and I wrote everything down and I'll post later with some of the pictures.

Loved the show and my son had a great time (Now I just wish my hearing would come back a bit more, LOL - I knew I was in trouble when I saw the sheet covering up his amps... They pull the black sheet back and there's 10 Marshalls underneath. The cheap earplugs I used obviously didn't work very well... Hearing is back to normal now and all is well... )

TOTALLY AWESOME SHOW!!!!!
RATT N ROLL...

I was at this show drove down from Waco. RATT kicked major ass and I was impressed to see alot of younger fans in the crowd. I wished I knew they were playing Tyler TX, I would have seen that show as well. Overall I had a blast and took my family to the beach the next day and got sunburned to heck.

Jul. 6, 2007 at: House of Blues (New Orleans, LA)

setlist courtesy & review by: Rhastus

= Back for More =

I went and saw RATT at the House of Blues in New Orleans on July 6, 2007. It was my second time seeing them this year and my third time overall.

Well, the day started off fine. Jason and Ashley called and told me they were on the way. It looked like for the first time in recorded history that they were actually going to be early. I finished getting ready and went to get the tickets. Well that's where the problems began. I couldn't find them. I'm tearing the house apart with no luck. They show up and we turn the place inside out. No tickets. Fortunately, I ordered these tickets online. Jason called ticketbastard. They canceled the tickets and left new ones at the will call. I still don't know if I ever got them in the mail or if I lost them.

We got on the road (still early) and made the 3 hour drive to New Orleans. Went to the House of Blues and picked up our tickets. Got a pizza at some dive across the street, took it back to the car and chowed down. Then made the walk back to the club. We were plenty early and got a spot in the middle of the floor with only one person between us and the stage.

The opening band was Near Life Experience. I will be kind and just say they aren't my cup of tea. The Bass player and Second Guitar player definitely need to retake Rock star 101. Those poses and facial expressions just weren't happening. At least it was a good time for a piss break and a beer run. I was able to "acquire" a RATT poster on my little side trip. The show started right on time as advertised at 8:45 p.m.

  Here is the line up:

  • Stephen Pearcy - Vocals
  • Warren DeMartini - Lead Guitar
  • Bobby "The Blotz" Blotzer - Drums
  • Robbie Crane - Bass
  • John Corabi - Guitar

Here is the set list with my ever insightful comments to follow.

  1. Sweet Cheater
  2. Dangerous but worth the Risk
  3. I'm Insane
  4. City to City
  5. Slip of the Lip
  6. Wanted man- Extended version
  7. Way Cool Jr-Extended version
  8. Nobody rides for free
  9. Back for more-Extended version
  10. Over the Edge
  11. Lack of Communication
  12. Lay it Down
  13. You're in Love- extended
  14. Lovin' you's a Dirty Job
  15. Walkin' the Dog
  16. Body Talk
  17. Round and Round

Sweet Cheater was a cool song to open the show with. The crowd was a little slow getting into the show as the first four songs the band played weren't "radio hits". Pearcy saw Jason during City to City and gave him the sign. See Jason always wears this Vertex shirt (a Pearcy side project) to the shows and if Pearcy spots him. He gives him the sign.

When Slip of the Lip started the crowd finally really got into it. The band did extended versions on several tunes and that's always a plus. Nobody Rides for Free was a nice addition. The highlight of the evening for me was Walkin' the Dog, the old Rufus Thomas song done Aerosmith style. That got me hyped as a mug. Of course, the show ended with Round And Round at 10:00 p.m. A nice 75 minute setlist. Very Cool since most of the other shows they are doing, they are opening for Poison and playing a shorter set list.

We hung out for awhile in the club and then went outside. We waited outside one of the tour buses in hopes of spotting some of the band members. We were close to finally leaving when Pearcy himself came out of the bus in disguise. I spotted him right off and was about to yell at Jason, but he spotted him too. Jason and Ashley talked to him for a few minutes and Jason got him to sign the infamous Vertex shirt. I was on the phone with Wuss Boy and by the time I got off Pearcy was heading out of sight so unfortunately I didn't get to talk to him. Well, the Ashley good luck theory continues. What other Rock stars do we want to meet? Looking forward to Biloxi tomorrow night. It should kick ass. Ratt n' Roll, baby !!!

RATT played House of Blues Myrtle Beach last night, 7/3. Wife, son, and I got to HOB around 4PM. Walked around back and took a couple of pictures of the tour bus... BADASS LOGO! Band was inside jamming. Son and I stood out back and listened for about 30 minutes.... very cool!

Show was announced as a sellout (2400 capacity). Show started at 8PM to a virtually fullhouse. VOJ played...and still need to shorten their guitar straps.... same set as in Charlotte and VaBeach. RATT came out to a jampacked house that was really into both RATT and POISON the entire night. RATT's Setlist was virtually identical to previous nights, just a couple of songs flipped. Sound was exceptional with Warren really working the crowd with several center stage guitar jams.

We were in the Press Pit (right beside the soundbox) for the show. Just as POISON was coming on the stage, Bobby comes up beside me, we shake hands, and then talk between songs the ENTIRE Poison set. Wife and son were on CLOUD 9... alright, me too!!!! It had been 10 years since I had even spoken with Bobby and he came to hang out, have a few drinks, and compliment my son for knowing every word to every RATT song. Signed my son's shirt, his RATT sign, and a setlist for me.

Walked out with him before POISON's encore. Went back to the bus and met all the guys and had pix with them.....will post those pix and the tour bus (outside) pix as well shortly. Wished SEP a HAPPY BDAY from THERATTGANG.COM! (Awwww, thank you SO MUCH for mentioning about this site!! Glad TheRattGang.com could participate in wishing him a happy birthday!! - Nao) Band was all smiles after the show and greeted a decent number of fans with pix/autographs. Chatted with Warren, Robbie, Stephen, and John. They all were having a blast on tour and thanked us, the fans, for always supporting them. Guys hung around for about an hour after the show and then departed for Florida.

TRULY A GREAT GROUP OF GUYS, NOT JUST GREAT MUSICIANS! They made a memory that my 17 year old Rodent will never forget.

THANKS AGAIN BOBBY!!!! Next time, More JaegerBombs?

RATTnROLL or PAY the TOLL!!!!!

Forgot to mention this in reviews, but make sure and check out the beginning of Body Talk. They have used red, white, and blue pulsing/flashing lights during the intro to this song the 3 times I've seen them so far on this tour. It is an awesome start for the song. Band looks and sounds wicked, very "heavy", when this song begins. I'd pay money again just for this!!! I think they use the same pulsing lights another time or two during the night, but Body Talk really stood out!

SEP's manager took a picture of my son after the show holding his autographed RATTnROLL or Pay the Toll sign. It was just posted on SEP's Website, http://www.stephen-pearcy.com/

Was a real good show!! Pearcy sounded good, but by the end of the set, I think his voice was going abit. But overall he sounded good and was really Moving around alot, jumping etc. The crowd loved it. the band was all smiles. I would say the venue was mostly full for RATT.

Bobby's new kit is a monster! double bass. The only other drummer I've seen hit the drums as hard as Blotzer would have to be Tommy Lee.

The band seemed to be really having fun onstage. Warren actually picked up the microphone and introduced Pearcy for the band introductions.

Warren really shredded. only complaint is that on some of the songs his guitar was mixed too low so you couldn't hear him soloing as well... kinda nice to hear Warren talk!

The setlist was the same as the Pennsylvania show. The crowd didnt really seem to be into the more obscure songs it seemed to me, but I loved hearing Sweet Cheater, City to City, Dangerous (But Worth The Risk).

Really, the bands performance factor on this tour is great! They were all smiles. And A LOT of band interaction. Especially between Pearcy/Warren.

Bobby got the crowd pumped as well. He had the hugest grin on his face all night.

It must've been extremely hot onstage though. Pearcy was wiping his face after every song. And Warren would sort of sprawl himself out on his amps making this dehydrated/tired face.

There was a lot of buzz for RATT at this show. A lot of people looking forward to them and they delivered.

Vains of Jenna were on the side of the stage the whole RATT set. you could see they were taking in the performance of RATT.

I was at the show as well. I thought the band had great sound, especially Pearcy. By the end of the set the crowd was heavily into RATT.

Set list was the same as it was in Hartford, which dissapointed me as I was hoping to hear Closer to My Heart. In protest and for the second time in a week - I left directly after RATT, not waiting around for the most overrated hair band of the 80's; Poison.

The show in Reading, PA ROCKED. RATT were amazing and in my opinion, blew Poison off the stage!! I didn't know what to expect with Pearcy back in the band after hearing some old bootlegs, but he sounded better then ever!! Also, did anybody here who as been to a show this tour actually like Vains of Jenna? I actually thought they were pretty good, loved their version of Refugee (Tom Petty).

I've been to several shows, and Reading had the best sound by far. That arena has great acoustics. Sometimes it's hard to hear Warren's leads in the first few rows, but they were crystal clear at the Sovereign Center.

review and pix by: Ratt_in_NC

Just got back from the RATT show in Charlotte, NC. Vains of Jenna opened at 7PM and played for 45 minutes or so to a very small crowd. RATT took the stage at 8PM and the crowd seemed decent, guessing maybe 7500 or so at the outdoor amphitheatre. Front row seats directly in front of Corabi and Robbie!!!! Setlist was quite different, but most excellent.

Crowd was really into RATT the entire set. The band sounded as tight as I've ever heard them! Excellent stage show with Pearcy sounding better/stronger on vocals than I've heard since probably 1985! Corabi does killer work on backup vocals. Wife was able to get John/Robbie to sign a copy of the setlist for me!!!! HELL YA!!!!

I have been a RATT fan from their inception and can only say that if you are a RATT fan, DO NOT MISS THEM THIS TOUR! They did not disappoint in the least!

RATTNROLL ROCKS ON!!!!!

Jun. 15, 2007 at: Amphitheater At The Wharf (Orange Beach, AL)

review by: Rhastus

= That RATT Review =

I went and saw RATT at the wharf in Orange beach, AL on June 15, 2007.

As in most of my reviews, we have to take it back to the 80's. Its 1984. back when MTV actually played videos and we would have that shit on all day long while playing Atari. I'm not exactly sure how or when we got into RATT, but I would guess it was the Round and Round video. Milton Berle in drag, the butler with the spiked wristband and a catchy tune. What more can you ask for? So in between jamming out Purple Rain, Sports and Rebel Yell on the boom box, we would throw in Out of the Cellar. One day we were walking around the block jamming that shit when some dude yelled at us to turn it down (which immediately resulted in us turning it up to 11). The next street over some jocks were throwing a football at us, but we just ignored those assholes and kept cranking up that shit. A few years later, I saw my second concert ever (we all know who #1 was, some things never change) February 26, 1987 Ratt at the Pensacola Civic center with Poison opening. Very Cool indeed.

Well, lets fast forward to 2007. After seeing Arcade in the early 90's and Stephen Pearcy solo just a few years ago, We were hyped as a mug to hear that Pearcy was rejoining RATT and going on tour. Now let me break this down a little more. My normal co-hort in most of my adventures is Jason, my friend of 31 years and he is the biggest RATT fan there is. It's like me with the Time so you know how hardcore he is. So of course, we had to go when a show was announced in Orange Beach.

Well, what would a concert be with out the drama that always seems to go along with it. Well actually its usually Jason's drama, my life is pretty fucking boring. Well lets see. They left late, the Friday traffic sucked, the truck broke down, etc. Well Jason and Ashley didn't get to my house until after 7 p.m. with the show scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. We figured we still had plenty of time since concerts very rarely start on time and there was suppose to be an opening act before RATT. Of course we got lost (damn you map quest) and didn't get to the venue until around 8:15 p.m.

Originally it was suppose to be While Lion opening, but they had some dispute between current and former members and were to be replaced by Vains of Jenna one of the few newer rock bands that doesn't suck. We heard the strains of this 80's sounding stuff and we were like "Cool" until we realized it was RATT already playing. Well, we rushed to our seats and then a little further up to catch the show

 Here is the line up:

  • Stephen Pearcy - Vocals
  • Warren DeMartini - Lead Guitar
  • Bobby "The Blotz" Blotzer - Drums
  • Robbie Crane - Bass
  • John Corabi - Guitar

I don't know what the song is they were playing when we first showed up (this is where Jason emails me back and tells me what it is and calls me a poser). Well he did email me back, but atleast he didn't rag on me. Here is the corrected setlist

  1. Over the Edge-missed the first half of the song
  2. lack of Communication
  3. lay it Down
  4. You're in Love
  5. Body talk
  6. Round and Round

Much to our horror, we quickly figured out that we missed more than a song or two. No opening band and they actually started on time so we missed over half the set. Its a damn shame to because they sounded great. Warren is definitely an underrated guitar player and Stephen was the rock star he's always been. Of course, we were disappointed, we basically paid $10 a song, but with the way things have been going lately it was still pretty damn cool.  We got a drink and I picked up a T-shirt. We decided to hang around and see Poison since we payed all that money and drove all that way. We lasted about 2 1/2 songs and had to bail. There was some chicken place right next to the concert venue that apparently doesn't exist on our side of the Universe anymore so we went there and ate. I'm not a big fan of chicken, but it was pretty damn good. As we left, we could still hear Poison still playing, mangling a Tom Petty song. Thank god we bailed when we did.

It was still fairly early so we ended up at some bar doing shots and playing stuff on the jukebox that nobody wanted to hear but us. A Very Cool evening. We have two more shows lined up on this tour and we will definitely be early to them.
